And we’re outta here!

Photobucket

We leave tonight for vacation.

OMG, I so need this.   Even though I’ll be doing my best to look reasonably cool at the beach wearing a metal and black Star Wars boot on one foot and a flip flop on the other … Even though some way cool mom must have taken over my body one day and I told my 14 year old daughter that she could invite a friend … Even though putting two 14 year old girls in the car with one 26 year old son is simply an invitation to all the eye-rolls I’ll ever want to see … and Even though I’m still not talking to HIM.     I still NEED this.

Not Talking

Photobucket

I’m not talking to you.
I don’t think I’ll be talking to you tonight.
I don’t think I’ll be talking to you tomorrow either.

You want to act like a child with your stupid little temper tantrums - go ahead, but you do it by yourself.   I can’t believe that you scratch your head wondering why your daughters are such drama queens.   They learned it from the best … you.

We leave for vacation on Thursday.   Yip-pee.

Feel Better Now Tough Guy?

Photobucket

Feel better now tough guy?   How does it make you feel to know that you brought a 14 year old girl who NEVER cries to tears?      Are you proud of yourself that you did this because you launched into one of your yelling tirades because you couldn’t hear her?

Your temper tantrums are getting old and tired.   And they make you look like an immature child.   There are more intelligent ways to deal with problems that you are having by talking … by looking for solutions … by asking for help … by communicating with the people that you are REALLY angry at.   And you need to stop taking your anger out on those who are there for you day-in and day-out … those who love you unconditionally … those who ask nothing from you.

You need to take a good hard look at yourself and your behavior lately.   I know I’m going to.

Your Appointment is NOT for today

Photobucket

My orthopaedic appointment was NOT for this morning … despite the fact that when they doctor’s office called to reschedule my appointment, I wrote in WEDNESDAY and JULY 22 for the reschedule date.   Nope, they say they never told me that … the appointment is tomorrow morning … THURSDAY, JULY 23.

Crap.   I lost three hours (actually four … but who’s counting that closely) of sick leave this morning and will have to take off tomorrow morning too.

Aaaaaannnnnd - I came to work “dressed” today.   I was called for an interview today at 1:00 pm (sure hope I’ve got that one right) and planned to go from the doctor to the interview.   So, here I sit at work - “dressed” and not in my usual jeans and sneakers - waiting to go on this interview.   Someone’s already commented on my dress - I told them that since I thought I was going to the doctor - that I wore this to make it easier to get in and out of my walking boot for the x-rays.   Think they bought it?

So, wish me well on my interview … Unless there is someone already chosen for the position (which is how Federal Government jobs usually go) I should be able to nail this one.   Fingers crossed!

Mad Men

Photobucket

Mad Men starts up again on July 27th and I can’t wait!

I love this show.   In high school I had an interest in film technique.   I thought one day I’d go into film … directing, producing, etc.   I ended up married and having a family instead.   Anyway, I love the show not only for the story, but for the attention to detail … hitting the look of the 60’s dead on … the ‘feel’ of the show.

Smoking and drinking at work - why did we ever put a stop to that?

Cough … Cough … Cough

Photobucket

I’ve been coughing like crazy for a while now.    The doctor gave me some Tussionex yesterday.   I took some after I got to work this morning and about 40 minutes later felt like I was falling out of my chair.   I look up this medicine on the net and find out that it’s hydrocodone.    The liquid form of Vicodin … Lortab, etc.   Equilivent to morphine for pain control.   I’m not sure how a pain medication works on a cough … but it damn sure does.

So, I’m high as a kite at work, but I’m not coughing.

This should make for a fun day!

Tick Tock

Photobucket
Tick … Tock … Tick …. Tock …. Tick …. Tock …. Tick …. Tock

Seems that one would only appeal a charge against them if they were found guilty on that charge.

Seems that your three felony charges were not dismissed and you were not found not guilty.  Instead your three felony charges were certified to the grand jury.

Tick … Tock Ms. Holier than Everyone Else … Looks like your gig is almost up.

They want to know if I’m dead!

Photobucket

I had to close my Yahoo email account because I got caught up in the spam train.   You’d never believe how many people have left me money … all I have to do is give someone my name, address, date of birth, social security number and bank routing number and they’ll transfer the money to me.

*giggle*

Recently I got an email with a subject line of:   Below is the burial pictures brought in confirmation that you are dead.

They email said I had 24 hours to confirm if I were dead and that it could be dangerous not to reply.

I sent the following:  Yes, I’m dead.   Please take me off your email list.

I’ve got to give them credit … they got a good belly laugh out of me.

So, here’s why I got off track with my blog

Photobucket

I fell out of my front door …. backwards.   Broke the 5th metatarsil in four places.   So, I’ve been adusting to life on crutches and wearing my StarWars looking space book.   They tell me not to put weight on the foot - so I’m not quite sure why I have to wear the boot.   Ok, so I do know … because I keep ending up putting some weight on the heel of the foot anyway.

Six weeks to three months to heal.

Yay.
